Studio Policies
By enrolling in lessons with Harmony House School of Music, students and/or parents acknowledge and agree to all studio policies outlined on this page. These policies are a condition of enrollment and ongoing participation in lessons.

In-Person Lessons
In-person lessons are our primary offering and take place at our studio’s in Bonney Lake, WA. We welcome students from the Pierce County area and surrounding communities who are able to attend lessons on-site.
Online Lessons
Online lessons are available when in-person instruction is not possible due to scheduling, distance, or temporary circumstances. Virtual lessons are conducted via Google Meet and follow the same structure and expectations as in-person lessons.
-
To maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment, all students and families are expected to act with respect toward instructors, other students, and the studio space.
Students are expected to:
Arrive on time and ready to participate
Follow instructor guidance during lessons
Treat instruments, equipment, and studio space with care
Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior may result in the immediate termination of a lesson. Continued behavior issues may result in dismissal from the studio at our discretion.
Parents or guardians are responsible for their child at all times outside of their scheduled lesson time.
Instructors are only responsible for students during their scheduled lesson
Students must be picked up promptly at the end of each lesson
Parents are responsible for supervising siblings or other children accompanying a student
The studio is not responsible for students left unattended before or after lessons
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue lessons to any student or family whose behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, or does not align with the studio’s values. In such cases, any remaining scheduled lessons may be forfeited.
Our goal is to create a welcoming, focused environment where every student can thrive.

Tuition is billed monthly. Invoices are sent seven days before the start of the upcoming month and are due by the first of the month. Lessons must be paid in full prior to attending scheduled lessons.
Payments not received by the first of the month are subject to a $10 late fee.
Your monthly payment is a commitment to your assigned lesson. There are no refunds for missing a lesson.
We do not issue refunds for personal scheduling conflicts. If a teacher or the studio needs to cancel, a make up lesson or credit will be issued.
Students and/or caregivers are responsible for keeping billing information up to date. If you notice a discrepancy on your invoice, please contact us promptly so it can be addressed.
-
Lessons are scheduled weekly on the same day and time. Students retain their assigned time slot as long as they remain enrolled and tuition is current.
Lesson times are reserved exclusively for each student and cannot be rescheduled. A last minute cancelation or no show automatically forfeits your lesson.
If a student is unable to attend their scheduled lesson due to illness or a scheduling conflict, one of the following options may be offered if 24 hour notice is given:
Attend the lesson virtually via Google Meet
Receive a recorded video lesson provided by the instructor
Students are expected to attend lessons at their scheduled time. We do not issue credits or refunds for missed lessons due to personal scheduling conflicts.
If a student is unable to consistently attend their agreed lesson time, their reserved time slot may be forfeited and made available to other students.
If a teacher or the studio cancels a lesson, a makeup lesson or account credit will be provided.
If a student needs to take time off from lessons but wants to retain their time slot, they must continue paying for monthly tuition. If tuition isn’t paid, their time slot will be opened to other students.
-
To ensure a safe and professional learning environment for both students and instructors, lessons are recorded. Recordings are used solely for instructional reference, quality assurance, and safety purposes, and are not shared publicly.
We strive to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all students and families. However, Harmony House School of Music is not liable for injuries, accidents, or loss of personal property that may occur while on the premises or during lessons.
Students and families agree to:
Use all instruments, equipment, and studio space responsibly
Follow all instructions provided by the instructor
Avoid behavior that could cause harm to themselves, others, or property
Parents/guardians assume full responsibility for:
Any damages caused by the student to instruments, equipment, or studio property
Supervising their child outside of scheduled lesson time
In the event of an emergency, Harmony House School of Music reserves the right to take appropriate action to ensure the safety of all individuals present.
Participation in lessons constitutes agreement to these terms.
-
Students wishing to discontinue lessons must provide at least two weeks’ notice before the start of the next month. This allows the studio time to offer the time slot to another student.
Withdrawal requests should be sent to our email or phone.
Late Withdrawal: If less than two weeks’ notice is given, the student will be charged for any lessons scheduled within two weeks after notice is received. This may result in a charge of one or two lessons depending on the timing of the notice.
